Let's Celebrate!

Days 1-4:

For the first four days of our trip you will be choosing the countries and their celebrations that you want to learn about. You wiill experiences the countries culture and see elements of their celebrations and find the art within those celebrates. After learning, you will write a small response to what you learned that day.

 

Days 5 & 6:

On days five and six of our travels you will begin to think about the celebrations and holidays of the different cultures that you visited and then you will find a fellow explorer and combine all of your new knowledge and souvenirs and create your very own special holiday!

Day 7:

On day seven of our travels you will individually create your very own greeting card/ holiday card for you newly created holiday!

Days 8 & 9:

On the eighth and ninth day of our traveling experience, you will individually create one decoration that would be used in your newly created holiday. After creating your decoration, you will be writing a small response explaining your decoration and its purpose and use in your holiday.





Day 10:

On the last day of our travels, you will upload all of your pictures of the amazing trip. We ask that you take a picture of all the decorated faces of your greeting card and a picture or two pictures of you decoration.



Please include a short response about your work on Dr. Motter's 7th grade blog.

Write 8-10 sentences about your card and decoration.  You should explain your holiday and how your decoration and greeting card represent it.



Use your worksheet to help you write your response!

Are you ready to start celebrating?! Here you can access all of your travels and lessons to different countries and their different celebrations. Your itinerary is planned out for each day of our travels and all you have to do is read the directions and click on the balloon that deals with the scheduled day of our travels. So let's get this party started!

Click on the left balloon below for the worksheet you can print out to help you design your holiday. The right balloon is where you can see an example of a worksheet filled out.

Use the materials of your choice to make your card;

some common materials are construction paper, glitter, markers, colored pencils, etc.

Your greeting card should include:

-a symbol to that represents your holiday

-the colors of your day

-a message to a friend



It should also be creative and neat!

 

Decoration Directions:

Using any interesting materials you can find in the classroom, create a decoration that is used in celebrating your holiday.​



It should reflect your holiday through its colors, symbols, or images.
